Harvesting Vegetables At The Katherine Research Station

Our men’s group are very proud this week! They’ve been harvesting vegetables they’ve planted and grown in our plot at the Katherine Research Station.

The Station has lent us a plot of land where we can grow and harvest fruits and vegetables, which we’re very grateful for. Staff at the Station also mentor our men’s groups in all their work.

This harvest has been a long time coming. We experienced some knockbacks due to the weather and animals eating the young plants. But our Binjari and Barunga teams have never given up and nurtured the surviving plants.

Our first harvest might be a small one, but it’s a big achievement for first time gardeners and it’s just the start for us!

It’s a credit to everyone involved who worked together each week when visiting the station. We’re grateful for the expert advice, guidance and encouragement provided by the Katherine Research Station team. It’s proving to be a winning partnership!

Enjoy the fruits of your labour fullas!
