Helping Timber Creek Community during floods

During the Christmas period the Timber Creek community was flooded and many people were greatly affected, some community members lost all their clothes, personal and household possessions.

Nyirrunggulung-RISE reached out to NLC Northern Land Council and donated clothes and household items to help people get back on their feet.

The Northern Territory Emergency Service advises that people should:

  • Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
  • Prepare for flooding and move away while safe to do so.
  • Don’t drive into floodwaters.
