In October, Tracy Beesley, General Manager of Operations, and Eventhia Friday, Barunga Service Co-ordinator, were invited to speak at the NESA (National Employment Services Agency) conference about the Cultural wellbeing work they’ve been doing in Central Arnhem communities.
They were joined by Maria Smith, CEO of Bounce Global, to present on their co-designed wellbeing program “Ngalmuka Munguy Wirlang Yilk-mak”.
The program is currently for Aspirants in Beswick and Barunga and soon will be expanded to Pormpuraaw and Kowanyama with our partner, Rise Ventures.
Some of our Cultural wellbeing activities have been time down at the creek, fishing, listening to songs in the language and traditional learning.
After presenting, the ladies and RISE Ventures CEO Paul Synnott dressed up and enjoyed the conference dinner and awards night!
They even got to meet Olympic gold medallist Natalie Cook!
