Today we celebrated Indigenous Literacy Day. I have attached some photos of Barunga School.
Barunga is a little community 80 km southeast of Katherine on Jawoyn land. The school grades are from Kindy to Year 12 and a total of 90 students are enrolled with approximately 60 students who attend.
Today we engaged with the local Barunga school by sitting with the children and reading them books that we donated.
We also donated footballs, basketballs, garden beds, seedlings, potting mix, and a planting guide to assist the children with growing their own seeds. These were donated by Palmerston Bunnings.
