Kukimbat Gudwan Daga is back and this time, the men are involved!
Over the course of the program, both our men’s and women’s groups will learn hospitality, food service, and café and restaurant management skills!
This training is accredited by Institute of Skills and Training Australia – part of GTNT Group – and we’re happy to have Kieran back as our trainer.
Thank you to the Northern Territory Government for funding this exciting program.
We’re delighted to have 14 men from the Wugularr, Barunga and Binjari communities enrolled in this 12-week certification.
They started the program by focusing on workplace and kitchen hygiene, and learning how to make a killer coffee with Barista training!
Phil and the Barunga boys put their new cooking skills into practice and made this delicious marinated chicken, rice and salad dish.
The guys love to cook and it’s no wonder when they get to enjoy a flavourful feast like this!
The ladies have also been brushing up on the skills they’ve learnt from our Kukimbat Gudwan Daga program.
Kieran from GTNT Group was back in Katherine to train our Barunga and Wugularr ladies, along with some school students, in the art of being a barista.
They also completed a Safe Food Handling certification and made yummy food to share.
Everyone did an awesome job and more importantly, had fun in the kitchen!
They also practiced their skills in Barunga and made a healthier Thai-style calamari salad – doesn’t it look delicious!?
To end the year, we had plenty of cooks in the kitchen with our Barunga, Wugulaar and Binjari men completing their training for the year.
Our favourite Trainer Kieran taught the group in our Katherine Training Hub where they brushed up on their barista skills and cooked some top notch dishes.
There were plenty of laughs and the guys came away with great recipes and new skills.
A big thank you to Kieran for delivering another excellent training.
