As part of the Cert II in Construction course our Beswick and Barunga teams recently undertook a wonderful community project and decided to build a bike track at Barunga creche for the children to enjoy during the days.
We are delighted to announce that the bike track is now officially opened and what a fantastic track the fellas have created putting the skills they learned on the course to great use.
On the day we had the pleasure of seeing the smiling faces of the kids along with their families and the creche staff. It really showed the fellas how their hard work and dedication to this project was appreciated by everyone.
Nyirrunggulung Rise and Road Safety NT donated some items to be used on the track. These included road signs, traffic lights and helmets for the kids to enjoy whilst also teaching them about road safety.
Joining us for the opening we had staff representative from Hon Selena Uibo, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Minister for Essential Services, Minister for Housing and Homelands, Minister for Renewable and Energy and Minister for Treaty and Local Decision Making.
All of this would not be possible if it were not for our hardworking CDP teams and Batchelor Institute for facilitating the training course. An amazing outcome for the community.
Thank you to everyone involved in this project and to the team at Buranga creche for the ongoing support on the day.
