This week the fullas from, Nyirrunggulung-Rise, Beswick, Barunga, Binjari and Katherine Rise Ventures, helped Barunga School to celebrate, ‘National Tree Planting Day’. Our crews were joined by the staff from Katherine Research Station and the EON Foundation, a fantastic day was had by all.
Over a hundred trees were kindly donated by Planet Ark and our crews planted them around the Football and Softball fields. They also planted trees around the Barunga School, so families can sit under the shade while watching footy and softball.
After a busy day of tree planting, the staff from Nyirrunggulung-RISE cooked up a BBQ for everyone and the school kindly provided two healthy salads and rice.
However, the hard work doesn’t stop there. Until the first rains come our Barunga crew will be busy watering the trees to ensure they are healthy.
